The Security Token

I might be dumb not being able to use this thing or something but i have a security password token and i might have messed up by getting it the 1st time and pushing the button and not copying the 6 digits the 1st time, because no matter how many different passwords i try with it they just dont seem to work. I know i can just skip that but i might as well use it since i have one, but no idea if im dumb or the token is bad, any tips on how to get it to work?

I was like this until the community helped me. Every time a new code shows after 30 seconds you have to input in under the 30 seconds ,if you didn't simply click it again an try it with the new code. That's how I did it an it worked.
