To the makers of the game:
Let's start with the positive, it seems you've made a great product. Tons of people want in, obviously more so than you've ever expected. The time I've spent in the game, I've greatly enjoyed and look forward to playing some more.
But there's the true problem. As many people (often times more colorfully than required) have posted all over this forum, we can't get in to play the game. I'd say 97% of the time I try and play I get an error saying the server is full. Another 2% I can log onto the Japanese servers but can't access the NA/EU server list, and of course there's the lounge server errors for the last two days.
Setting the 2% aside, I think there's a very simple fix for the 97%. The problem with not being able to get in is that you don't ever force people out. It's being said ever where on this forum, if you get in, don't log out. That means that for people off to work, school, out with friends, off to see a movie, they sit there in the game, logged in, taking space, their character waiting for their return so they can continue playing at their leisure. This absolute selfish behaviour won't stop unless you make it stop. Take a page from World of Warcraft's book. If the player's inactive for an hour, kick them out! This way, space will become available as the hogs can't reserve every spot on the server.
And a second suggestion, allow us to report players as spam. There is very little in this world more frustrating than waiting for two days to get into the game, FINALLY being able to play the game after so many hours of waiting, only to see that there are several gold sellers in each major city taking up the so precious, limited space trying to hock their wares. Let us report them as spam so that a DM can review their account and activity and ban them if they aren't there to play the game.
What you need is better control of your servers, not more resources. If you don't clean up the trash, adding more space will only allow more of it to pile up.
I hope you read my post and heed my suggestions, or after a while longer of this kind of experience, I'll be forced to abandon your game despite my love for the series, and try to live on ignoring the slight bitterness of the time and money wasted.
Regards,
André
