Same feeling.
It's a really stupid decision to limit queue size.

LOL at RyanW... but you forgot the real kicker.
Get in the queue... it starts counting down... then BAM... Error 1017 AGAIN.
Spending literally an hour of my day clicking for 1017 errors make me feel like a fool for spending money on this game in the first place.

what needs to happen is they need to instal an auto AFK disconnect timer.. seriously people become afraid to not get on they sit for days using server space.. they need to be kicked to allow those who are active to get on
Just having a functioning queue would help tremendously. It's a new game, and an unexpectedly popular game and I understand if there's lengthy queues. 30 minutes, hour whatever. If nothing else I'll remote access from work at the right time to be able to play when I get home. Player morale would go up considerably.
It would also reduce the load on the lobby/regoinal servers. I would have to imagine that holding some in queue is far less stressful on the server than having that same player try to log in a few times a minute for the same timespan.
It would also help with the server balancing, particularly if the average queue position in primetime over the last 3 days was public. If people get frustrated with queue they can look at every server and reroll to give every server roughly the same stresses. Right now I have no idea if the other servers are better or worse than Cactuar. So I stay there because I'm vested in that server and have no other information to go on. You prevent people from making a rational decision they are forced to act irrationally.
Hell add in a afk boot system so the queue moves quicker and this would seem like a great game and an unexpected hit rather than a great game that's an unexpected hit that's maintained by a room full of 2nd graders.

The AFK boot system would solve alot of the problems at this moment. yeah granted it would piss alot of those who depend on the afk to hold there position but its only fair.. we all pay for the game, we should have every right to play just like all those who dont have jobs and can get on at 3am and just hold there position
I play on Faerie because Leviathan was locked within 16 hours of Beta 4 starting, and all my friends are there. I spent a week just trying to log onto Leviathan before giving up.
Now I can't even get into Faerie. So what's next? Just make more and more characters hoping that I will get lucky and find somewhere I can actually play.

i understand that feeling there. i got early access before all my friends at work bought the game.. now we are spread over 5 different realms because the creation is locked.. they should seriously redesign launch guides, or make it like XI was where someone from the server can send a password to a friend to allow them access

When WoW: MoP came out I remember there was a 14 hour server queue for my realm... yeah it sucked but at least I could see the progress.
This is just absurd.
