I don't know where else to post this so I'll post it here since it is technically a technical issue that I have with this game. I picked up ARR:FFXIV on Friday after work. Installed the game and let it patch while I slept. When I woke up Saturday morning I was able to log in and play and absolutely love the game. I logged out the character I was playing to roll up a new one of a different race / class combination to see the other starting ares and get a feel for other classes and I found out about the dreaded 1017 error and the error where I cannot see the NA/EU worlds. This morning I was able to create a new character on one of the NA/EU worlds, got to play for a little while, then I had to go out to do some running around, so I logged out. For the last hour and a half I have been trying to get back on the one I rolled up this morning as I enjoy the area/class/race more than the one from yesterday but the dreaded 1017 wont let me in. You have had the servers live for a week, and you cannot tell me that there has not been time to add new servers, or make more space, or even add a larger system to the existing servers. There is absolutely no excuse for this to be happening. You guys launched this game 3 years ago, it was horrible (from what I've heard as I did not play it back then) relaunched it this week and seem to have learned nothing from your previous mistakes. As a company you cannot afford any more negative press from a FF MMO. I love the game, but if I cannot play it I cannot see any reason to support it.

Yeah, everyone's currently in the same boat as you. Some people are getting in but it's few and far between. If you're patient enough to wait, things will possibly be sorted out by Wednesday and they're also considering giving us an extra free week to make up for the server issues. If not you can do what most people are doing on here and complain about it more. Not sure if that's the best solution or not but it's at least showing SE no one's happy about what's happening.

Oh really? A whole week of free game time for more than a weeks worth of frustration by millions of people?? OMFG!!!!! So makes up for it! I say we all go over to JP servers just to fuck up theirs to see how quickly they repair them compared to ours... I bet they go down within a couple hours and come back up better than before, but I'm also willing to bet a fortune that no one will bother to try doing this because they are all AFINGK so that no one can log in.. Oh wait you mean 5000 people going afk for hours at a time isn't what is causing no one to be able to log in with server restrictions? Oh fuck me.

Yeah having it fixed Wednesday while I'm working 12 hour shifts does nothing for me on this 3 day weekend I have =/ Like I said I love this game, (what I've gotten to play of it) and would like to see it succeed. I'm just worried that with all the 1017 errors, and missing NA/EU worlds that they just don't care about what is happening on this side of things. The JP worlds I can usually log into and play on, only problem is that I don't speak the language, and the squiggly lines they call writing I cannot read.

more hten a week??? the game hasnt been out for more hten a week. if you mean Early access they will be giving more time to those. If you read the post it can be even more then 1 week. they will give more info on it once the maintenance has started on the 4th.

Honestly I could care less about the "free game time" they are "giving" us. That time was paid for and we were not able to access the game. What I care about is the fact that they know what the problem is, they know how to fix the problem, I'm pretty dang sure they have the resources to fix the problem. Why then, wait until Wednesday? Why not do an emergency maintenance and fix the problems now?

Problem is that they are talking about paying us back for time lost only, not for the frustration of dealing with their lack of caring for NA/EU servers as well. Like I said, if JP servers were having this issue I bet it would be fixed in a days time or less.

Get a grasp on our brand you FF XIV ARR! You can play late with our "Late Access" Policy which allows you to constantly frustrate trying to log in into the game you paid for! So much better than that "Early Access" S**t. I mean, seriously, don't you love that AMAZING Log in music? We know you do! There you go! 1017 for everyone! Enjoy!
