Please relay to Yoshida, Moogle Delivery Service. Clicking mailbox will make moogle appear to give you your mail. They are ninja like that.

That would be too much... Maybe just replace regular mailboxes around towns with moogles and have a FF style mailbox system. I think FF IX had that...

I have friends that I haven't had a chat with in a while that I'd like to send a letter to without having to wait for them to be online and at the computer in order to catch their attention. I want to let them know when I'm online so that we can try to play together. It would really make things much easier for us.
That being said, it'd be cool if the mailbox/delivery system allowed us to leave messages, too. At the moment, I don't know how to do that.
Piracy

Not to put words in your mouth, but it seems as though you guys are currently working to resolve poor coding before adding additional functionality.

Bayohne honestly if there is so many server related issues when is SE going to come out an apologize for releasing the game in its current state and charging people the 80 dollars for software so Wada could get his 3 million dollar Bonus? And Before you deny it I suggest you go look at SE profit Loss margin and projected stats for the 2nd Quarter when the XIV software was released. SE was below budget and projection, Wada saw he wouldn't get his bonus so he Made Tanaka release the game in the current state?
Japanese programming is not as advanced as Western programming, although granted some of the programmers working on XIV may have been educated in the West (though I severely doubt that, due to Japan's industrial culture favoring locally-taught students).
My point is that I think Square Enix needs to consider bringing in developers who are experienced with MMOs from the West or elsewhere. Possibly Korea.

This makes no since at all. Programming is programming. FFXIV uses the Crystal Tools game engine. I'm assuming the core is in C with all plugins written in C++ and other languages.Japanese programming is not as advanced as Western programming, although granted some of the programmers working on XIV may have been educated in the West (though I severely doubt that, due to Japan's industrial culture favoring locally-taught students).

The server related issues he mentioned probably does have to do with using old servers, and how many server requests are made to do simple things like change gear. My guess is that will go away, and they will upgrade the servers.
They also launched with too many worlds.
I know nothing about programing but MMOs put out this year example rift runs better then 14. I still don't understand why almost a year out 14 is still so content bare and buggy. Not to mention lack of basics like a mail system.

My best guess and from seeing all the recent updates, interviews and letters.... it all looks like their plan here is to basically re-do the whole game almost from scratch. Redesigning battle mechanics as much as 70%, job system and pretty much all other systems... UI, redesigning complete areas, and i'm sure they are redoing from scratch all the content the previous team had almost ready. Not talking about all the new stuff they are working on and that was not planned at all by the previous team.......
Basically when they are done with all this... which will take close to 1 year if you ask me.... well FFXIV will be very different then the game you are playing right now.
