FF14 NEEDS Guild Wars 2's culling system

In guild wars 2, enemies in the overworld are given drawing priority over players at all times, meaning enemies never go invisible Ever. In FF14, if you enter a large scale FATE, good luck finding the enemies! (This is an even bigger problem on ps3).

I don't understand why Square hasn't implemented this system. When you enter a FATE and the only thing you can see are chocobos and minions, that's a problem. The priority chain should go: Enemies -> Party Members -> Other Players -> Other Players Minions. Anything else just doesn't make sense.

Again, GW2 already has this system and disappearing enemies is not a problem on that game because of it. I'd like to see something similar in ff14. And additionally, an option to hide all minions of other players would help tremendously too.

Server issues aside this is one of the biggest mistakes imo. You should never not see the Fate mob/boss and once server/login/stability issues are fixed this needs to be prioritized. IMO the order for drawn should be Mobs > Party > Guild Mates > Everyone else.

This isn't really a Guild Wars 2 thing, it's the way things have been handled forever. I have no idea why their priority for displaying seems backwards. I think it's Pets > PCs > NPCs > Monsters right now.

But don't you know, GW2 invented everything and is the most innovative mmo ever.

Sounds like a codeing error that didn't come up during beta testing due to limited number of players and lack of a reason to mob fates due to the low level cap

This. I've got my targeting set up for just Enemies/Aggroed enemies, but for some @#%^ing reason the targeting still cycles through those gd carbuncles.

if they cant use that system, could they at least use a graying out style? offer it as an option maybe.
(like when you use stealth as a gatherer so you can collect in higher areas, you go all see thru)
if players were un-targetable in that manner, unless they were NPCs or Party memebers it would definately make it easier to know what to hit and what to heal in a FATE ect.

also, can we find a way for the quest icons to STOP VANISHING! its hard enough some days seeing the character, but when their ! mark vanishes into the clusterfrak of players and you are runing from memory, its hard. sure, turn it off again once the population goes down but man. unless im lucky and its all tall NPCs askign for help i cant see a thing. server help you if your quest giver is a lalafell.... *hands out soapboxes to all Lalafell NPCs*
