How do I unlock final GC rank?

It says to finish hunting log 2 and perform a task...I have the log done but I see no GC quest, I have a 50 so its not a level too low issue. Where is this "task"?

Finish the main story and it will unlock a new quest and dungeon for your GC.

You need to do hunting log 2, and then do a trial, any of the trials will work, the primals and such.

For the Immortal Flames I had to also complete Amdapor Keep after fighting Ifrit (Hard).

I have done Hardmode ifrit and Ampador keep, I cannot get passed Second Flame Lieutenant. I have also completed all 3 hunting logs

am exactly in the same shoes. In the seal exchange screen, there are six tabs, and i am on the third, and clearly Second flame lieutenant is not the highest rank, yet it tells me that there is no promotion.

It is the highest rank at this time. The other ranks presumably are for later plans.

2nd Lt. was also the highest rank attainable in 1.0.

This was similar with the ranking system in FFXI. In the Wings of the Goddess expansion, you had a military rank that you also gained by points, and quests. But SE only added new ranks every-so-often to keep people from Start-Sprinting to the highest levels/ranks in the first days/weeks of the games launch. It's an obvious deliberate time wall to give us more to look forward too.
