Carpenter Guildmaster is a liar?

In the level 20 Carpenter quest, "The Lance's Lesson", Beatin mentions that Iron Ingots could be found at Hawthorne Hut.



So where are they? This is the only merchant I could find there. Obviously I can get the ingots through other methods, but I like listening to my elder guildmasters. Is this text based on some earlier translation or merchant wares that were removed, or am I missing something?

Is Beatin a dirty liar, or am I a blind idiot?

I sadly do not have a class high level enough to create a new thread so I will post it here. If it doesn't work, can someone please re-post my observation. Thank you.

The ability "Steady Hand" is a crafting ability that all the Disciple of the Hand share.

However the tooltip of the ability itself says that it raise the success of the 5 next actions by 20%.

The tooltip of the status effect it create mention that it raise the success by 10%.

Good to know! I did the same thing as Kimoi, ran out to the Hawthorne Hut as instructed, and was annoyed that I could not find any iron ingots on the vendor. Hope the quest text is corrected soon.

You can get iron something from the Armourer and/or Blacksmith guilds in Limsa.

It might be Ore though.

I think you need level 13 Armourer or level 16 Blacksmith to make iron ingots, so it's not too difficult to obtain.

It's Ore. The guild merchants *never* sell items you can make with the guild's class, only mats the class needs that can't be made by that class, and that only for stuff you need up to about level 15, which is why you can't find an iron ingot at the Carpenters' Guild shop. Ironically (to use an appropriate term), you *can* find the Iron Lance he wants you to make at the Hawthorne Hut, but I don't think he'll take it if your crafter's log doesn't show that you've made one.
