I want a refund

Regardless of what you say, do or want you will not receive a refund, it clearly states in the ToS that once the box has been opened it can no longer be returned

Legally, if you disagree with the EULA (which cannot be read until opening the box and installing the software, or redeeming the code), you are still entitled to a refund.
Problem for OP is, he accepted the EULA or he would not be reaching error 1017. So yes, OP, you are no longer eligible for a refund.

If it is really that bad for you, go outside and play with your new shiny $40 frisbee.
