Being popular doesn't mean it was a 'great' launch but let's at least call it what it is. The only reason there are problems is because so many people want to play.
Hah...hahah... This is far from the worst launch in history. FFXIV 1.0? SimCity? All things considered, the launch is going well, with some capacity kinks that are getting worked out.
