I'm not counting the endless complaints other than the actual viable ones that bring up a good point or an issue that is seriously broken. I've been on forums a bit and so far havn't really seen any of the higher ups post anything on any threads.

Yeah same, it would be nice to know that they're at least watching the forums even if it's just to sift through the endless rage posts.
As far as I know they haven't, however during the beta the Community Managers did, usually to clarify information or advise players they post in an already established thread. It would be really nice if the NA/EU team were a little more hands on, like say the developers, CMs, CEO, CCO and various staff heads are over at Trion. It really helps to maintain goodwill.

I seen a mod post in one thread but that was once it reached about 450 pages...
You wont see it happen, possibly just to chime in and say something useless to make people think they post/read but they wont be doing anything useful or read anybody's problems
Many successful companies with forums are intentionally hands off, as a moderator presence can disrupt the natural order of forum discussion. One post in a ten page thread will turn it into a 100 page thread, where 90% of the discussion is focused on that one post by the moderator - who are by nature incredibly vague communicators.
