I would have so much more respect for a company if they would stand up tall and say "We fucked up, but we promise you we will sort it" and that be it! If it means they are going to turn the servers off completely for a day or two, then do it! Just fix it!

There will need to be some form of compensation to the customers. Their customer service skills aren't were they should be either. Too many negatives, not enough positives.
