So, I recently had problems with my collectors edition code redemption. Come to find out since I had purchased the Original FFXIV 1.0 version; I did not have to purchase A Realm Reborn. The collectors edition code would not work because you cannot register two different serial numbers to the same account. Apparently Square Enix had announced that 1.0 players would not have to pay for A Realm Reborn; so.. if you purchased the Digital Collectors Edition for ARR, and played FFXIV 1.0 in the past; request a refund and just upgrade your current account to Digital Collectors for $19.99.
