Getting kicked off after the difficult login process, as described by Randalthor, is worse than a horrible experience, but the situation isn't that the game is broken. The servers have been supporting gameplay for hundreds of thousands of people, 24 hours a day, since before launch.

I don't like it at all, either. And I think SE really needs to implement something after the fix to allow people to move characters to servers where their friends, guild, and family are. The existing worlds will stay over-full until something is done to either increase their capacity significantly or move a lot of people to the new worlds.
