i even got into the queue of 5 people once...only to be given the same error afterwards. Square enix please fix this fast, the game is great but i sure as hell wont pay for shotty service like this. Also wtf is wrong with just making a character in a server? I cant even play in the server all my friends are in because by the time i got to character creation after being able to log in, the server i wanted (gilgamesh) where all my friends are was locked. if i dont get a free server transfer on my main so i can play on the server i wanted to in the first place than seriously im just going to give up on this game, as good as it is, i cant stand paying for something only to not get atleast the smallest control on how i play.

Yeah, it's a hard pill to swallow. To think that I was foolish enough to have this entire weekend to do nothing but play this game. LOL yeah right, maybe if I log in at 3 am pdt tonight and don't log out all weekend. It's a sad state of affairs, but hopefully by next weekend things will be all smooth sailing.

Just get a refund, apparently you don't pay attention to updates and what there doing to fix things, mmo starts are rocky... fyi takes me 2 min to get in game during high volume times

just because some past mmo's start off rocky is not a credible excuse for every new mmo that has a rocky launch, just FYI there have also been mmo's that have had near perfect launches why not compare to those? oh yeah because it doesn't support your view point. Fact is there is no excuse, simply poor planning that even yoshi himself admitted to.

I honestly don't remember the last time I've played an MMO that had a launch where I couldn't log in, except for maybe WoW, and that was back in 2004. And I've played a shit ton of MMOs. It's 2013 and a re-launch of the same game. There are no excuses anymore.

If you *READ* what the guy you quoted said, he said "mmo starts are rocky". That doesn't mean all MMOs suffer from login issues. That means that there is *ALWAYS* something pretty glaringly wrong with an MMO when it starts. I haven't seen a single one that went off without any major issues when it first started. They all have *SOME* problem at the beginning. Sure you could get into the game when SWTOR launched (just as an example), but the game was horribly bugged and there was NO end game content. Honestly not logging in is the only major issue with the game I have ran across. When you get into the game everything is amazing. Very, very few QoL issues, I would say this is one of the best starts I have ever seen for an MMO, all it took was the game failing the first time around, and then 2 years in re-development.
