NA/EU character list down again

I cant save the world of Eorzea if I cant find it! Im trying to live to win, but I dont think its going to happen this afternoon..

3 hours and 11 minutes later, 3-4 unable to update NA/EU group lists followed by the most recent, where when it was finally fixed 16 minutes got me into the queue at 320. After about another 13 minutes or so I was down to 50 and it looked like it was going to log me in, and then whack! 10102 > 2002 client force shutdown. I kinda just sat there for a minute, o.O my face literally looked like (T^T) decided to hop back on and brave the 1017 and try again since there was no turning back now! Got to log in screen and was greeted with "unable to update NA/EU groups" *twitch twitch* died a little inside...again haha. Oh well, you win some...you lose the rest. xD

Someone asked me last night if Odin had been up recently. Sadly Odin was stuck at the "Unable to update NA/EU" or "1017."

No, WoW never had such problems. They setup queues up quite fast and they worked fine, even if queues were long at least you didnt have to click non stop for 2 hours before you could log in.
Besides we are in 2013, not in 2003.

This is true, Wow had Queues up like the second day, and they worked with out Dcing a person, I remember trying to log in, and got put in Q, so I went to the mall for a bit, than came back was still in Q so I took a shower, by the time I was done my shower I was logged in. Moral of my story is that I did not have to sit by the computer for 4-5 hours just to see if can play... I like the game and I'm sure this will get better and will be here for the long run, but this does not look good on SE, and some people who are new to the world of MMO's might not be so patient, it's a shame cause its a very good game, and I'm sure a lot of new players will quit due to this issue and not even get a chance to see the game for what it is.

Oh man, error 1017 has evolved after devouring the souls of countless people trying to enter Eorzea! It now trolls you before you even reach character select! I wonder what it will evolve to next ; ;.

WoW had problems for weeks.

it might have had bugs / lagged but it was playable since day 3.
