why not 6 whm 2 tank pts?

6 Regens on tank
6x 300hp=1800 per 2.5sec + eye for an eye and virus rotation for boss dmg reduction.
The hps would be equivilant 1 whm spamming cure2 + half potency cure. The potency would double if regens were placed on both tanks.
Cleric stance dps from 6 whms who can afford do so more because of the passive healing done by regen
6 cleric stance whm with decent gear should be doing enough dps.
Take 1 whm out for brd or smn if they struggle for mp song,debuffs or aoe limit but don't think they would just regen+stone2 spam with occasional heal.

hmm imagine 7 whm +1 tank pt for titan ..

Because the fight would take 18.5 hours. DPS is CRUCIAL to have.

Whm dps in cleric stance is quite respectable. Plus it would be dps from 6 or 7 whm since the 6 or 7 regens will be doing alot of passive healing

Even with Cleric Stance our damage is still nowhere near what real DPS put out.

Even if one would consider WHM DPS respectable, there's really no way to get enough mana back to sustain us for the entirety of the boss fight.

For giggles, I would like to try this party out through several pieces of content.

1-2 tanks,6-5 white mages, 1 bard.

I don't know if the DPS burn will be enough for things like fetters/heart/etc.

Aero II - Aero - Fluid Aura - Stone II.
Maybe Bard's Foe Requiem on the enemy for increased greenwrath damage.

Fun times ahead.

Not to mention MP issues to actually keep the regen running for the time it will take to take down a boss.
Also there are quite a few inbuilt dps checks during boss fights..

Most of the boss fights in end game have built in mechanics that serve as dps checks, serving sorta like an enrage timer in other games. For instance HM Ifrit, you need to kill the 4 nails that spawn within the 30-45 or so seconds before they disappear or else Ifrit's next move will one shot wipe the entire group. With no DPS classes or limit break, I don't care how "leet" you think cleric stance is, a bunch of white mages ain't gonna cut it.

Because five of them would be casting stone the entire time, and wipe the party.
After which, everyone would blame it on the one WHM who tried to keep them alive.
