auto translate for ps3?

So now that ive randomly been disconnected and basically have no chance of loggin back in...figured id check the forums. Been tryin to figure this out but cant bring up the auto translator on ps3 without a keyboard..any help would be appreciated

Can anyone confirm that it was perhaps removed? I swear during beta it was one of the joystick buttons. Even went to gamepad config and didnt see anything.

I noticed there was this auto-translate option on the chat menu (doing something), but it just adds something like {Japanese} and doesn't seem to affect your text in any way.

When you press select to activate the chatbox, you then press R1 to bring up the auto-translate feature.

Ah ok thanks alot....that will save me alot of time until i go get me a keyboard lol

The problem is though I haven't worked out how to shortcut/macro certain text. So I hardly ever use it because I have to flick through each line individually and it's very arduous and cumbersome .

Ah thats unfortunate. Than again prob still better than the software on-screen kb lol. Its unavoidable...i will end up buying a kb...but in the meantime good to know. I swear i went through every menu 3times and couldnt find anything. I found it on accident durin beta haha.

The onscreen keyboard is horrible. It actually detriments the game every time it appears and causes it to crash because of PS3s amazing ability to multitask *Sarcasm*.

To get around this I have bought that small keypad which Sony sell as an accessory - it mounts on the controller and it looks pretty cool. Though takes some time to get used to as typing with big thumbs only on small keys is far from ideal.

Ya my homie has one of those...i hit like 4 letters with every button press lol. I will find a cheap usb one. Kinda upset i cant connect my phone and use that without it being rooted
