Inability to log in - small things can go a long way.

This is not a flame thread, I have no intention of flaming or raging - for any other users, if this is your intent, please take it elsewhere.

For the last 4 days I have been unable to play at all short of 3 hours on Friday, at which point my game crashed and since then I have been unable to log back in. For obvious reasons, this is somewhat frustrating.

I do realise the reasons for the problems and why you have chosen to restrict the amount of log-ins, so that the ones that did manage to get in can play in a stable and good game rather than having the servers crash from thousands of people spam-joining.

This might be wrong, but I would think the reason why the JP & NA/EU Character group is constantly down (as well as the lobby itself right now) is due to the amount of people spamming the Start button nonstop, hoping that spamming it over and over, they will be let in.

Unless I am wrong in how it works, please, I implore you - add a queue system. I have no problems waiting in a queue, at least then I know at some point I will be able to get in. It is the feeling of constantly having to play the lottery just in order to get in which frustrates me something terrible, let us wait in a queue so we can actually play. A lot of us have jobs and other in real life commitments, we can't log on early in the morning and play all day long - at least in a queue, I could get other things done meanwhile.

Another thing that could help, put a 2-hour afk limit before being booted to login screen or something. It is infuriating that people get to stay in while they sleep for 7-8 hours when there's thousands of people trying to get in.

With all this said, I have thoroughly enjoyed the game thus far, and I would very much like to continue with it - I have been stuck at level 20 for the last few days now. I want to ride my behemoth clad chocobo..

There is a queue system, and from what I noticed (if I'm wrong correct me on this) only a limited number can get into the queue system. Even if you get into the queue there is a chance you can get kicked from it with a message saying world full (which has happened to me multiple times.) People are spamming for the chance to get into the queue and into the game.

In the last few days, I have only heard from friends about the queue system being up in the morning/around noon +1GMT, after that not a single one of them have seen a queue after - I myself haven't been in one at all, and I have tried logging on at various times during the weekend.

My point stands, add a proper queue system, I don't care if there's five hundred or a thousand people ahead of me on my server, I can alt tab and watch a movie/show or do chores meanwhile. Having a limited amount of people able to join the queue system is rather redundant, especially if people keep crashing from the queues due to people spam joining (or trying to).

and maybe do the dreaded "Rolling Restart" every couple of hours...that way it would auto-kick the AFKers because they are not there to log back in...

Spamming the start button doesn't really cause the issue. The problem lies with 200,000 connections per minute (was posted on reddit) that the server can't seem to prioritize who goes where when everyone just tries to flood the login system. For those who wait in queue get in quicker. Those who keep trying get put in last, SE is pretty particular with their authentication process and that takes some time, people spam it thinking authentication goes faster.

They are different from one another, the login being the hardest, char being the easiest, the map being the last obstacle which usually fails when the login system or char system fails to respond.

Yes, I agree that queue isn't good at all, I was just pointing out that there is a queue system in place. The highest amount of people that have been in front of me in a queue was 207, but I don't know the exact number for people who can be in a queue. Also the fact that you can get kicked out of a queue is even more frustrating. I feel this is something they should fix.

I played when they just let everyone log in it was a complete waste of time, because all you could do was world quest and kill grind there was no doing the storyline. The duty finder could not handle the load for all the solo/group instance it required. They are also working on it and expect to have new servers up by Wednesday.

Aye, I played when Early Access started as well, and the duty finder servers crashed and no one could progress, I was stuck at level 12(?) at that point for a few hours. But isn't that the point of queues, to keep everyone in one - to limit the amount allowed in at once. Which is why I find it rather peculiar that they limit the amount allowed in the queue, which results in people getting booted from the queues when people try and spam join/get in over and over.

I can't believe they are unwilling to institute a standard queue system and auto-logout of AFK'rs until they get the issues resolved. It's very frustrating and extremely poor customer service.

I can't help but thing they're back to their usual pandering to the JP population as I've seen several posts from folks over there arguing against an AFK autologout for reasons I don't understand at all.

First an Anti-Afk system would be wasted resources atm. Due to the fact that people will just circumvent it via macro keyboards. Ie jumping ever 3min. second they are fixing the issues at hand there is no need to post anything anymore about the situation plaguing everyone.
