    was working, did nothing, currently crashes on startup

    I haven't the foggiest what's going on. It was working fine aside from my sub-par integrated video card. I've gone through all the typical troubleshooting hoops, reinstalls, ccleaner, driver swipes and updates... besides reinstalling my entire OS I'm about ready to insert my head into a wood chipper.

    In the FFXIV config a few options have changed too, I can't change the font, some settings are different or completely gone.

    I'm guessing it has something to do with windows update but i can't be sure. I even uninstalled a lot of those and system restored and it gives me the same message.

    How can it work and then not work after doing nothing?

    Can you be more specific with exactly where the game crashes, and what message you receive? Does it happen as soon as you double click the icon? Also be more specific with your other FFXIV config problems.

    You are walking the line of minimum required specifications with that video card, so that throws a wrench in the mix a little bit.

    If you haven't re-installed your game, that would probably be one of your next steps.

    it crashes before the update screen shows up before login. The error message merely states that there is a problem and windows is working on the solution.

    In terms of the FFXIVconfig, when it WAS working there were options to change fonts and sizing. Also, it use to list the graphics options as 1-10 (I don't get that) and now it just says stuff like 'three quarters, two thirds, half' but I wouldn't know what that does seeing that I had it working beforehand.

    In terms of the video card, I wanted to see where I stood with the game before I went out and purchased one. I'm not looking to spend a lot but I want it to look pretty and run well of course. I'm behind the curve and no matter how much research I do, it's never nearly as good as trial and error.

    I hope that helps, I'm not a internet savvy as I use to be.

    That's pretty strange.. the FFXIV config definitely hasn't changed.

    If you're willing to re-install your game, that's what I would try next. It shouldn't take that long.

    Also do a windows registry repair of some sort (posted about that on the other thread).

    was the config altered in any way before the april patch or any other time before that?

    I've managed to get it working again without having to reinstall the game. I had to completely delete the video device from my computer and reinstall bs that came with the asus motherboard, not a single driver I found online worked but an older one that came with the MB did . . . ? I don't even know how I thought to do that but it worked.

    aaaaahh.... trial and error tried and true.

    y'know what else? I can't win today. So i've also been going nuts with this signature deal on the Lodestone. No matter what I do my banners won't show. I've tried them all and they just won't show, not even a custom one I photoshopped and host on my own website. It always says I have more than one image in the text field.

    1=1 last time I checked, then again . . . I might be wrong.

    Opal Vicious --> Gladiator Lvl 20 something or other . . . weaving . . . stuff . . .

    Post the code that you're using here, or with a screenshot. You may be doing something wrong :x

    grr... i have to rethink all this. i'm not going to use the banner I've made; i need to host it elsewhere because I don't want my website to be exposed on this site or through my banners. What i do know is I'm simply putting [img] tags around it.

    like soo....

    I hope that helps, I've tried it with other banners that other sites make for you, and those I can't seem to get to work either.
