Low FPS, Severe Lag

Getting horrible lag in cities and the world area, with severe lag spikes dropping my fps to under 10. But when i'm in my mog house or on instance servers i get 60+ FPS.
My System specs are:

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2390T CPU @ 2.70GHz
8 GB of Memory
AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series(VRAM 4095 MB)

My graphic card is up to date and my graphic settings are set to low. I don't know what to do at this point. Any help would be appreciate. Thanks

I also ran a benchmark last night and was 11k with 103 average fps, but the actual game cant even hold 30 fps.

Server lag was so horrible last night that my guild's Titan fight took several tries to do - we were being swept off the platform by his beam attack even though we were well clear of it because the server lag was so bad that the move was made a full 1-3 seconds before it showed up on the clients. We finally beat Titan by getting a lock on his attack pattern and moving well before he even initiated the move. What should have taken maybe ten minutes instead took 45. Our guild's main tank decided against trying the Garuda run some of the guildies wanted to make, and their run took almost an hour thanks to having to figure out how to compensate for the latency.

Lower down your shadows and it should be ok. The game tends to load them faster than most so it tends to lag hard. Also instead of fullscreen go windowed, it helps big time

I've tried that too, had everyone on low settings and still issues. Played around with the video card setting to performance and still no improvement. As well as having it windowed, doesn't do anything either.

I'm having the same issues. I can run benchmark on high and get a fine score. but the game itself lags hard.

This game seems to run shitty on AMD cards for some reason. The 7800 series should be plenty strong enough to handle this game. Try changing all of your AMD settings to performance instead of quality and see if that helps anything.

I've been having the same problem 16gb of Memory....AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series Card, and 3.4GHz quadcore processer. Can run maxed out on the benchmark no prblems. Having trouble on shiva server pulling 30fps...Turned down and off shadows, and other adjustments to check the fps rate. I believe it's really do the the over congestion of the server. I sure hope thats the problem and our fps goes up when there's not so much lag and congestion.

It's probably not due to congestion.. Many AMD users are having the same issue. I haven't heard of one NVIDIA user having this problem so.. chances are its an AMD issue.

I think Sol is correct... They have a beta driver out that is supposed to address some FF14 server issues but I am now going to even try the MFR drivers and see if that helps.

Then again; both may be guilty. Square and AMD.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO I use a Geoforce 210 and I have lag as well I have tried everything I can think of to improve my gameplay but nothing has worked. I checked the game specs and they say Geforce GTX6950 and AMD 7950 I think are the best cards to use. BUT Square Enix has not looked at the price's of those cards I HAVE. They are both OVER $200.00 each and I am sorry but I am not working right now so I can not afford either one of them.
