Download keeps cutting out. Any advise?

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but anyways...

So my boyfriend is having problems with his client download, it keeps cutting out on him at about 3 gig. Does anyone have any suggestions on what could be the problem and/or how to fix it?

He has a digital copy.
He's attempted downloading about 6-7 times it's failed at about same point every time.

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Do you live with him?
I would see if I could just copy/paste the main folder onto either an external harddrive, or over the local network (takes longer).

Try to (re-)move the C:\Users\****\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn folder (where *** is the computer login ID) - that tends to get the download to fail sometimes.

can you explain how he is downloading the game? he should have downloaded a 106 mb file which is the launcher and the launcher should be downloading the game. if he is downloading the 7.5 Gb straight he should try using a download manager to save progress. also see if he can use this http://sqex.to/ffxiv_client_en. he will need to login but if he is able to download that file he will be able download the game.

Sorry not sure, he's gone to bed. I thought i'd post and hopefully when he looks at this tomorrow he'll be able to fix the problem.
