Such a cheap quest, and I had to leave and re-enter about 5 times after losing before it finally started back up. Your companion dies WAY too fast in this, and gets hate immediately. I had to cast cure 1 about 5 times at start just to be sure that she wouldn't suffer insta-death. she also appears to lose health randomly all the time even when using no skills and no enemies are around.

Really? i haven't noticed the presence of my companion on any quest that requires battle, did not notice any assistance of hindrance from her. Just get hate by doing more damage than him and fight for yourself lol

Get someone to go in with you, these types of quest allows you to bring up to two other players.

The problem is... if u fight the mage enemy~ it will cast aoe spells.. ur path companion will be beside u fighting... will die of 1hit .

I did all quests at the level I was supposed to be for them (and most of them pre receiving EXP/SP for them, all actually except 46 i was saving it ) anywho, I had no problem on the r38 quest and my companions was barely even there or noticeable.

I have this problem, tried about 20 times now, path companion dies before i have a chance to react, ONE HIT dead. I don't have time between the cutscene where the amaljaa come and fight you and when you have to turn around. one hit. dead. no chance.

I'm actually having this exact same problem. I started a new Mi'qote Character who is going full DoM. I have the Lalafell GLA companion and from what I can gather of my 12 attempts of this is that, for whatever reason Path Companions in Lord Errant are loading as an extreamly low level. My path companion hits for 0 or misses. and as soon as the Mages or Amal'jaa use Shadowfall, I instantly fail the mission as my path companion somehow gets 1 shot for anywhere from 350-450 damage.

Having done this quest already I know this isn't supposed to be the norm. The path companion should be at or around your level so that he can actually "participate" in the fight.

I sent in a bug report to hopefully see If they can investigate. My guess, they borked the quest post 1.19 since it has some data relating to ifrit. If a dev is reading, please investigate~

Wow. I don't remember this quest to be this tough. And my path companion never died, 100% sure of this.

Is it the quest where you can Parley against Amalja NPC?
Maybe I can't remember the fight because I Parley'ed my way out.

Yeah my companion is a mage too, a CNJ.
In case this has to do with how well they survive.....

I just did this quest 2 days ago at lvl 40. I had zero problems. Companion did not die once and my health was never below half. I was quite surpised how easy it was. I am a pug and my companion is a mage.

I'm stuck at this quest as a FSH49, my companion dies way too fast. it's a shame that you have to be DoW/DoM to advance in the storyline.
