The UltimatePay cards don't work the way you think they work. Those cards add money to UltimatePay, which in turn adds Crysta to your Square account. This does not time make. The time cards in Japan are released by Square themselves, as such they actually add time to your XIV subscription directly negating the middleman that is services like UltimatePay. This is how Japanese players have their veteran rewards already, the time needed to unlock them is already bought and applied.
