If you haven't, I would take a look at this guide. If you don't want to buy new parts, it may help you fine tune the settings so it works the best it can for your system!

If u do buy a high end graphics card tho make sure your power supply can keep up to par, when I first started upgrading my comp back in the day I was unaware and eventually poofed my compy lol p.s. bought a amd 7950 hd for my wife and her score went from under 3k to over 8k easy.
I have a "similar" build (my processor is a lot better, but GC is only a little better) and honestly I can run on max settings (1080p) while in full screen, but it's almost unplayable while in windowed mode, which confuses me bcuz my specs should easily handle it but whatever, maybe it's like raelgun said and its just windows being windows...
Anyway, first thing first, try it in full screen mode and repost your results. My results on Maximum settings when running the benchmark on windowed mode was like 1500, and 6400 when in full screen. Now that I have the game, I play on maximum settings with no lag in full screen, and everything on.
Thanks for the help guys, I went out, bought a new GPC (Sapphire Radeon HD7790) and according to the benchmark i'm now on 9093 score. Game runs like a dream at maximumThanks guys! Mad love for the community!
glad to hear! I have a HD6790 and it runs great on maximum, so the 7790 would be even better!
