Constructive Criticism on the Chocobo Companion

I'm a black mage, I decided to make my chocobo a tank, now I regret my choice, since I can't make the chocobo attack something before I do it never builds enough threat to take the enemy away from me rendering it pretty useless really.

Square needs to make an option to allow us to send the Chocobo ahead!

Anyone else agree with this?

I agree. I have been leveling cnj/whm and made mine a tank and have the same problem. Wish I could command it to attack first. As it is now I wish I had just gone with the attack one since the tank cant hold hate

Same here, as a WHM I thought it would be nice to have a tank, but the only way to get it to tank anything is to cast Aero 1 and stand there whilst my Chocobo gets aggro.

It's a great feature but some kind of pet bar or even an attack button would be nice.

Interestingly, if you read the description on the icons in the rank up menu.. it says commands/orders the chocobo, which implies it can be used as a pet command.

I wish we were able to use out mounts with our chocobo companion summoned. It's a little annoying having to make him withdraw and waste Greens in order to go somewhere relatively quickly. I was hoping I could ride my Coeurl and have my choco follow me. Nope.

I can not find the time to level him up , since you cannot be queue for dungeons if you jave your pet out , and i prefer farming stone over leveling a chicken , even tho i whould like to do it .

It is something it should be looked into .

Companion system needs to be reworked. 1. You cant line up for DF with it on your side. 2. You cant use another mount. 3. You cant do GC leves (but normal leves are okay? not much difference between the 2) 4. Lack of independence or attack command for Mages 5. Gysahl draining your wallet because of constant summon unsummon. 6. Annoyingly long to level. A good fix here is to NOT make your buddy go into a party with you when you summon it. How hard is it to implement it into a separate system. I was quite looking forward to the companion system now I'm just annoyed but how tedious it is by itself
