i say no to free transfer, i understand why you want it but as someone else stated already, you made your characters on random worlds of your own choice, you made the stupid mistake and should pay for it yourself, not everyone else. you making characters on other worlds helped fill up the worlds that other wise may not have ever gotten so full other wise.

It's not my fault that I can't play with my friends.. many people have this problem.. this is a subscription based game.. we have to pay every month and we already paid for the game.. I don't think is very smart just to stop playing because we are losing days of subscription every day we don't play.. the game is not F2P my friend

We need this Free transfer so we can play now in any low populated server and play normally knowing that we will be able to transfer in the near future.. that way all the time we play until the tranfer won't be wasted

That's extraordinarily short sighted. Right now I am trying to create a character (because that's the only way to get a real-time view of which servers are full) and literally EVERY SINGLE EU/NA server is grayed out. The day I tried to create my first character it was like that ALL DAY. So what, i'm just supposed to not create a character at all? I'm supposed to pay $30 for a game just to stare at a list of servers that I can't create a character on? Oh, there are some JP servers up. I guess I have to create a character on one of those if I want to even play the game at all. But hey, guess what, I AM NOT JAPANESE. Seriously. People really need to think before spouting stuff like this. People have two choices with the server issues right now. Either create a character wherever you can, or don't play the game at all. The 2nd option is just plain silly after paying for a game. You think there is choice, but the only really viable choices are the two I listed, and neither are appealing. So people choose option A of rolling a character wherever, because not playing at all basically means you spent $30 (or more for those who have the CE) on nothing. I guess that's all well and good for people who plan to play the game alone for the entirety of their life in it, but the majority of us have friends that either already play the game or are going to be starting the game with us. The fact that you're forced to create your first character (as well as all subsequent characters) on whatever server happens to not be full completely destroys the ability to get on the same server with your friend/friends. Those who think that this is acceptable are either fools or didn't spend their own money to buy this game.

Gee, and you don't think SE should have taken this into account since as a subscription paying customer I'm allowed up 8 toons per world, up to 40 total. Tell me again how this is MY fault? Yes, it was me and my friends that caused this problem because we mistakenly didn't pull out our little crystal balls ahead of time to see that if we only waited a week then we would all be able to make our characters on the same world. Yes, it was our fault for investing in the game, the company, giving them money up front by paying for a pre-order to be able to play from launch day and expecting the game to be ready for us to log in and make characters within hours of each other and be able to make them on the same world. You're absolutely correct, we shouldn't have believed it could be done. We should have waited for the early reports of how the launch bombed and not bought the game. Yep, thanks for setting me straight. In fact, next time someone asks me how I'm enjoying my FFXIV experience I'll tell them not to bother. I bought the game, then paid my 30 day sub, then had to either A) play on a server I didn't want and then pay again to transfer to the server I did want, or B) Not play at all for a week while servers were fixed and then HOPE I could create a toon on my friends server, because if I'm only allowed on the newest server then my friend will have to pay to transfer.
