Since this thread pops up often, I actually agree wholeheartedly to the free transfer. I would like to leave this legacy server and find another with more new people in there.

agreed. have family and friends on random servers because of the lockouts and we all want to play together on the same server.

In my opinion, free server transfers are absolutely necessary for the additional servers being added to have any affect on fixing the overpopulation problems on the existing servers.
Whether or not we will be getting these transfers really needs to be addressed immediately.

I still can't play with my friends.. I don't want to waste my time playing in another server.. ONE free transfer is the best way to help everyone with all this server and login problems

Exactly; I just don't understand what they hope to achieve my 'increasing the capacity' of current servers without offering people the chance to get away from them and free them up a bit.

That doesn't compensate people for their frustration, all it does is refund the time that was stolen from us. Has nothing to do with compensating for frustration the players suffered. They better do a hell of a lot better than that if they want to quell the frustrations of everyone, including those who were frustrated to the point of not wanting to play past the free trial. If they don't they stand to lose that business because of being cheap and not properly compensating people for their frustration.

If they create new servers but don't transfer (for free) some of the people off the current servers, then the "full world" issue isn't going to go away.

I wish there was a reply all button for this, but honestly concerning every issue every one is experiencing. People are complaining about can't make characters, can't log in to the server, error 1017 and the like. SE blocked the creation of the characters because they wanted to reduce the amount of people getting Error 1017. So any high population server got the ban. This also affects servers getting error 1017, if you can't log in, you can't make a character. You will notice during high pop times, most all servers won't allow creation of characters, even if they aren't on the ban list.

If they were to implement an AFK Time out of 30 Minutes to 45 minutes then the perceived population overflow would be removed. The requirement for the upgrade of servers would be less pressing. And the error 1017 would be practically non-existent. What is causing the servers to be over popped is there are hundreds if not thousands of players in all parts of the world that are visible (not including the ones in their inn rooms) that are just sitting afk while they go to sleep, go to work, do chores and the like and sitting there, because they don't want to deal with the pain of having to try to log in 50-100 times spending 10-20 minutes of constantly cycling through login screens.

Seriously SE Implement an AFK Timer, No other MMOs don't have one, Even F2P ones have afk timers. FPS's have Timers. I can't think of an online server based game that doesn't that has succeeded.

Ultimately, what is going to happen after their "upgrade" is everyone is gonna try to make a server on their preferred server and SE is going to see the same thing again, because people will still stay logged in for 12+ hours at a time and being afk for the grand majority of it.

i say no to free transfer, i understand why you want it but as someone else stated already, you made your characters on random worlds of your own choice, you made the stupid mistake and should pay for it yourself, not everyone else. you making characters on other worlds helped fill up the worlds that other wise may not have ever gotten so full other wise.

So you are saying instead the person who bought the game should just never play it till SE fixes the storm they caused? Doesn't sound very smart.
