What's the point of having Legacy Achievements?

There were people who boasted to have, but i never checked if they did or not. I was missing a lot, but i'm proud of the major ones i did get. Such as the one that provides the sword of Thanalan title. or the notorious monster hunter title.

Sadly, people were begging Yoshi-P to keep their achievements so he did it. Myself, I am legacy and I don't see the point of it.

I'm pretty sure some of the legacy achievements are still obtainable since some of them are pretty impossible to get in 1.0. I reason I think some of them are in legacy is because of that point, being a legacy if you obtain them. There is some though that are only obtainable in 1.0.

Yes, I just wish there was a way to prove I got my 5-meld achievement during 1.0... It was a HUGE feat back then when I got it, but it's not nearly as impressive now that your item doesn't blow up when you fail.

Is there even anyone who achieved 100% of all the Legacy achievements?

There was a list of achievements that were going to be discontinued. (LINK)
I got myself set up to get all of them back in V1, but there are still some achievements that are in the Legacy list currently unavailable in V2 that aren't on the list of achievements to be discontinued. However that list does say this: "Other achievements may undergo changes to their conditions or temporarily become unavailable upon release of A Realm Reborn." So those should come back. I don't believe it was humanly possible to actually get all of V1's achievements before the game went offline, but getting the ones to be phased out was completely feasible.

But in my opinion, achievements are only actually fun when you can actually "achieve" them?

I mostly think achievements are for people who want to brag but FFXIV's achievement system has rewards I would like to try. I doubt if I will do all of it because it will make me look like a non-life loser.
