Alt-tab from fullscreen

I use windowed mode but it's basically full screen minus out the top part of the screen. Just go to your configuration and set it to windowed mode, and make sure to set the resolution to the same as your desktop. That's how I've always done it, and it works great!

Try that with a crossfire setup and find out why it does not work as great as you thought. Seriously, is it that hard to read the previous posts of a thread before posting? It was already mentioned at least 3 times why windowed mode is not enough in some scenarios and how it's not an excuse for a non-working fullscreen mode.

This is one of those problems that I can't believe even exists in XIV. I mean, considering how long and hard players fought this exact same issue in XI, how could they choose not to make it possible in XIV? This kind of oversight is as major and strange as not having a sort function for the inventory, which they ALSO lacked for a good while after the official release. I just don't understand how they could have remotely thought that these kinds of things would fly.

I have no idea how the SE crew keeps missing the mark with what the community wants from alt tab... FFXI was choppy as hell with it on, and XIV has that stupid boarder.

I use a script from autohotkey to get boarder-less full screen windowed mode. I simply cannot play without windowed mode and i detest that boarder!

You cant take advantage of crossfire in FFXIV windowed mode. Rendering the game unplayable for anyone relying on a 2nd card. The game doesn't even want to run crossfire in full-screen unless you tweak things with radeonpro. Not to mention there's no proper full-screen windowed mode so you have irritating borders, and god forbid you can't play at your native resolution so the game is stuck in a little cub on the desktop. :/
If anyone wants to fork out 400$ for a new videocard I'll gladly take you up on the offer because it's going to take 6 months to build my new pc otherwise lol. :P

If the game was proper DX10/11 xfire would work windowed, but we don't have that luxury. Though enabling 10/11 would negate the positive effects of crossfire in the first place.

I'd be willing to put money on it that SE doesn't see this as an issue. FFXI was "designed" the same way. They wanted to give the "Console experience" (barf) to PC users playing the game. Guess they didn't think that I play on PC because I don't like the console experience. Anyway, I don't think it would be an easy fix. It would probably take an extensive rework of something.

Still wish it would get done.
