This is not some extra we want here, this is a standard for any PC software. If SE can't handle the PC platform, why don't they stick with consoles? I don't remember any weird problems from their console games.

Because their PC games tend to be ports, which is why "basics evade them", because they don't redo the core code for the ported platforms, they just wrap it.

Yup it's fairly obvious that SE has no idea when it comes to PC development, not only coding but user interface and controls, can anyone remember back in beta before they fixed the mouse controls... hardware mouse cursor etc

These are all basic things but it seemed to evade them.

It's almost as if they are learning as they go, of course we have been asking for alt-tab since beta also /sigh

FFXIV is no port though.
From what we know, Crystal tool is a multiplatform engine, being able to built native code for supported platforms.
So the PS3 version is native, just like the PC one, else the "multiplatform" doesn't really make sense.

After thoroughly inspecting this matter, the development team has found what you have describe to be the proper function of hitting the ALT+TAB keys at this time. This is working as intended until they create better hacking/botting counter measures.

If you also noticed they log everything that is installed and running on your computer.

Well, to be perfectly honest, they do mention it's working properly at this time, but it doesn't make it sound any better tbh.
That's just another caveat on the list... and FFXIV already has enough of them

I use windowed mode but it's basically full screen minus out the top part of the screen. Just go to your configuration and set it to windowed mode, and make sure to set the resolution to the same as your desktop. That's how I've always done it, and it works great!
