I blame the healers, na lol. Did 6runs last run i just left, we where killing kinda slow didn't see the brd use blood letter once(the drg thought his dps was broken cause we where killing slow). Some how we wiped to the bubble boss 2times(1st time i died to it in the 5 previous runs).. Then after killing we proceeded to last boss where.. The 1st attempt we got it to about 20%, where the whm ran out of MP(1st time I seen a healer run outa mp), I got hit by breath 0times. The next try we got it to like 40% I got hit by 1breath, but the whm manage to die by standing in the acid... Someone commented on his mp pool. 980hp/1,100mp.
So i was like eh /checked him and ya no rings/earring/bracelets , rest of his gear was all whites(not that big of a deal) but ya no rings etc wth? "I'm out cu" /leave. Seen a few "woot" "yay" "finally" the previous runs. All pug's.

You can try to use the "skill" argument, but having melee DPS makes the encounter harder to complete, especially if your DPS don't notice that he gives you about 1.5 seconds to move away before he actually spits the poison at them.

I finally killed the damn dragon this morning. Took a MNK, WHM and BRD but we managed to do it. No, I don't feel "accomplished" or any of that nonsense, and am simply glad to be able to see the story post-Longstop.

    ----------------------

As a whole Longstop is definitely overtuned and in need of adjustments. I ran a higher risk of dying there than I did fighting the primal that comes after that dungeon (said primal was a fun fight and well-tuned, by the way). The fact the dragon has a stacking poison yet one of the two healers in the game cannot remove it (SCH doesn't get their status removal spell until lv40) is a very bad sign. The run where we won was mostly lucky, as the dragon decided to spit mostly on the healer and the BRD, who kept far away enough that I actually did not run out of room during the fight. God knows what would have happened it if have been PLD (me), DRG, MNK, SCH...

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

It's really easy, unless your getting dumb ppl.
Boss:1 "dps need to kill adds, lots of them" they pop by the door use overpower/flash on them.
Boss:2 "1 add pops need to kill it before boss, if goblin chases you run way from him." That's pretty much it. If ur the tank you don't have to chase after the boss/mini boss when the gob pulls hate. Also the boss can be slept when the add pops, not really needed but if someone wants to sleep it more power to them.
Boss:3 "dps -have to kill bubbles- As a tank you should be helping them. you can't really run behind the boss on cone attack run to the side. the big circle aoe just eat it unless your gear really sucks.
Boss4(last):"mages and ranged stay near each other, don't spread acid circles all over" Tank against the wall. Gotta be fast when it uses breath, always be ready for it. I pull it to the right wall near start and work down/around. I've only seen it go past the half way mark once. He starts using a knock back @ about 30%.

    Word limit.

Out of 14runs as War today i died once on main boss, health was low and I caught a breath. All where pugs.
16runs total but im not gonna count the 2, 1 had a really bad healer(almost naked) I left(see my post above). The other no one listened rushing boss's/wrong targets/not killing adds during boss's etc, imo they didn't deserve to be carried. /leave. I took about 4breaths total(all runs).

I have tanked in every game i have played but running this for the first time last night, spamming the best enmity rotation i could DPS would pull aggro with auto attacking, not sure if this is a bug or not because i have seen videos of palidans running this and using less abilities to gain enmity then i am but still keeping aggro. Stop raging or try it yourself bud.

Longstop has been my favorite dungeon so far. I've had very little trouble with holding enmity, and Aiatar is just a fun fight in general. There were a couple rough spots, especially my first time in when we didn't DPS the first boss adds fast enough, but overall I never thought it was too difficult. Reading posts and such prior, I was a little worried about it, but once I got to Aiatar, my thought was "This is what the fuss is all about?" Your group just has to be on it. Everyone has their role to play.

Did this place 3 times last night. I run with three casters, and they all wanted battlemage gear. The only problem I had with the last boss was getting poisoned even after (I thought) I got out the way in time. Running through the boss didn't help. It was like the dmg column was a lot wider then the visible mark or something. Or just a timing thing. Sucks to be old, I guess...

Otherwise, pretty straightforward. Just kept fighting him at edges of the room.

I had this problem at first too, but I started just strafing left and right most of the fight so you are already on your way of getting out of the way of it by the time you see the attack.
