XP bonus for having a higher level in another class?

I've been told that you get bonus XP if you are levelling a class which is below your highest level. Exactly how does this work? In particular, I'm asking because I saw that bonus XP while levelling CNJ (after getting ACN a ways further ahead), but now I'm trying FSH and seeing no such bonus.

weap classes work differently than job classes like fishing/mining/ect. example I know when you are in a party players share exp from kills so long as they are in the same area of the world but only if they are all in weap classes. however if one or more were to shift to job classes then those players don't get exp from kills

Just want to extend on this. Pretty sure the +50% exp you get for having a higher class is only from killing monsters. Considering DoL/DoH don't kill mobs, that is why we don't get the bonus. You can buy the increased exp for those classes though through your grand company, vary in price depending how much you want.

Yes I am a Gladiator and am also doing Conjurer and have both up there, and so i was getting a nice bonus when i hunted with the Conjurer and also with the Gladiator so they seem to interact. It was a nice feature and helps a lot. I also make sure to log off in a inn room or haven to get the rest bonus that helps a lot too.

I thought there would be a buff, but I don't think there is. Check your chat log when you kill something, beside your exp earned, it should say (+50%) for the bonus, or maybe more depending on food/rested exp/etc.

It seems DoL/DoH classes just never get any such bonus. DoW/DoM both do.

the +50% bonus is for killing mobs, the xp gained from the hunters log, and xp from FATES.
