Impossible to be Sumoner AND Scholar?

So far, Arcanist is the only class with two jobs. When one class advances to a job, their attribute points go with them.

The Arcanist presents me with a problem. I would like to be a Scholar healer, AND a Summoner DPS. If you put your points into Mind, you will be an effective healer but an ineffective DPSer, and the other way around. The ONE way I can see this working, is if Summoner could use a Conjurer's Cleric Stance ability, which switched your Mind with Intelligence, and lowers healing potency.

This isn't how it works right now. Currently only the Scholar can use Cleric Stance. So if you put all your points into INT thinking it will just transfer to Mind, you have the problem of 20% decreased healing potency.

In most games this wouldn't be an issue because you are always forced to "spec" into a role. In this game, not so. You are given the ability to play every single class to its fullest potential. Except the Summoner/Scholar combo. They need to either make it so Scholar/Summoner gets their own set of Attribute points, or give Summoner Cleric Stance so you can be an effective healer, then when you want to DPS switch to Summoner and use Cleric Stance so your healing is decreased (because you're a DPS job, you shouldn't be able to heal well), but your damage isn't affected.

Does anyone else agree, or have any other suggestions? I know you can re-spend your points, but that costs flags or something I'm told, and that is unacceptable in this game where you should be able to change class on the fly. You shouldn't have to re-spec your points every time you want to switch between Summoner/Scholar.

This is a serious issue for me, and its preventing me from playing my Arcanist, because I'm afraid to spend my points.

SMN and SCH have separate Attribute points.

I can only really answer the topic question, which is you can not be a Scholar and Summoner at the same time...the rest got a bit confusing for me, (I'm Autistic) but I hope it helps.

Summoner shares THM abilities while Scholar shares CNJ.

I'm sure it's been stated somewhere you can be both, up to 50 but later you'll have to choose the job. They did state there will be an item that will let you reassign your attribute points.

Pick the one you're most happy to play or go for the middle ground. Do White Mage for healing and summoner for dps!

Really, they have different attribute points? Oh thank god. I've been asking around everywhere and no one seems to know the answer, but everyone I talked to was under the impression it got the points from Arcanist.

As long as I can play Scholar healer and Summoner with their own set of attribute points, I'm happy

This is incorrect. However, SCH does receive a large bonus to MND, but no where near enough to make up the difference.

Cleric Stance - Swaps MND / INT values.

Just split the points between INT and MND if you want to play both. The 15 points you are missing in whichever stat will not affect you enough for it to be a major issue.

As an example, on my WHM I have set my points not for 30 MND, but 20 MND/10 VIT and can perform my role perfectly fine. I've even considered 15/15 split because I like having more HP.

Cleric Stance - Swaps MND / INT values.
It also reduces healing potency and increases magic attack. SMN can't use it either, though it is useful for SCH.

SMN/SCH do not have seperate attributes, but they do get their own boost when you put on the stone.

Cleric stance is unfortunately available only as cross class to sch, not smn (in beta thm could use it and was ending up as a better healer than cnj)

Only thing I'd suggest is splitting. It wont be optimal, but hopefully at higher lvls gear you wear will cover wht you miss out on
