Old school nes FF had numbers. And weaker was just -a ending, barriers.. I have no clue. I liked to blast stuff.. not put up barriers!
Yeah, the originals that we got outside of Japan used numbers, like ICE2 and LIT3. But I believe that they always used the tier name suffixes in Japanese. I found the -na endings were used in some games as status removing spells (Like Blindna) but I'm sure there were barrier versions. Remember AFIR from FFI? Whatever that was called in the JP version.
Edit (Went to look harder):
Ohh that's what it was. AFIR was called NulBlaze in FFI Advance, but the original spell was バファイ, which they state is supposed to be "bar" and not just "ba" like I was thinking.
OP, there's already is an Odin world: I'm on it. (well once my account is sorted out, but the world is there)
They seem to avoid naming worlds after actual places (Zanarkand, Midgar etc) , but instead of summons, famous monsters and weapons, etc.
You might see ones like "Yojimbo", "Bomb" or "Brynhildr"
There's a dozen Espers unused from XII with funky names like "Andrammelech", "Famfrit" and "Belias".
As an Irish player it would be especially cool to see "Cúchulainn".
EDIT: there something weird about post counts on this forum, so in response to Hempen kecks:
cool stuff. I always feel Shemhazai was 'kick-ass' since she's the representation of my star sign (I liked that about the Espers in XII).

My mistake - I browsed over the server lists and thought I was thorough, but missed Odin. As for the "funky named" Espers from FFXII, those are the Lucavi I mentioned - In FFT Adrammelech, Cúchulainn, Hashmal, Zalera, Belias, and Ultima are demons connected to the main plot. The rest were named but never appeared in that game, so they used the names of the final bosses of I-V for those (Chaos, Mateus, Famfrit, Zeromus, Exdeath). Zodiark's a special case, as Elidibus got to keep his own name, and Shemhazai is just weird.
Yojimbo would be cool - amending the list nowAnd I would totally love to play on Cúchulainn.

How about Ark?
A few days back on Cactuar, some folks were joking about a Rogue Tomato server, that would be fun too.
I dunno. I'm mostly asleep and have been for hours. I still want MadPony. I didn't even GET to choose the world name I wanted. If I wanted to play with friends it was Behemoth (which I'm on) and Gilgamesh (which I have been locked from since EA). *SIGH*
I'd give you Madpony if I was a Dev.![]()
Definitely frustrating. Well maybe if I'm lucky the Amazon fairy will deliver my game tomorrow. Headed to bed.
...Maybe Fomalhaut? Or are only the legacy servers named for weapons. Perhaps a different set of names could be used for the Launch servers, vs. the first wave of new ones.
Spoony Bard and Wild Rose
