When booting FF:XIV my tv's resolution drops to 480i from 1080p on CoD (PS3)

Hello community,

I purchased and installed RR yesterday on my PS3 and for some reason it down scales my screens display quailty. I will play Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 in 1080p on my 60' sony WEGA but when I boot up RR I get a message saying your screen resolution has been is set to 480i please change to 720p for an optimal expierence or something along those lines.

I messed with the settings on my T.V to no avail, I have had my PS3 hooked up via HDMI since I purchased it.

I believe it is in configuration, to change between 480 and 720p. Configuration on the main menu.

I checked all the tabs at the games main menu as well as all available in game options, I thought it was my T.V but it cant be it plays all other games fine.

The game renders to 720p, and will not pus to 1080i or p. If your TV won't do 720p, or your PlayStation is configured not to display in 720p, it will default to 480p. Make sure that your PS3 is set to allow 720p assuming that your TV can handle that resolution, and you will be fine.

Problem was with my PS3 settings, the ratios in which my T.v can output. I only had 1080p selected and did not check the boxes for 480 and 720. Game looks sooo much better in HD!
