So I was under the impression that the development team for FFXIV was not averse to playing and taking ideas from other MMOs.

Why, then, did we never get a proper queue system? I mean, other games did it:

Star Wars: The Old Republic:

Rift:

World of Warcraft:

Star Trek:

DC Universe Online:

League of Legends:

FFXIV:

I mean, really. It isn't exactly impossible. Instead, we have to GUESS when a spot opens up, which really just means playing the NUM0 lottery and hope that we beat everyone else when someone either crashes (why does the game crash when we alt+tab?) or they get DCed.

The excuses given are poor at this point in time. The AFK-kick? Why isn't that being actively worked on? I know that SE has said the reason they aren't working on that right now is because they're working on the stability of the servers, but we're already damn well aware of the fact that it is a hardware issue in CANADA, and not a software issue in JAPAN. Yeah, I can understand focusing on that, if you're working on the administration side of things, but the developers aren't exactly bagging up their belongings and flying halfway around the world to hang around in a DC in Montreal to try and fix a server issue. This leaves me wondering why it isn't being worked on at all.

Seriously guys, this is beginner crap when it comes to doing online games. I know a lot of this stuff was able to fly on FFXI, but this isn't FFXI anymore. The rules have changed a lot since 2001-2002. Time to get your heads on straight and do it right.
