    FFXIV Launcher Blank Screen

    Hi,

    I am having issues running the game client. I downloaded "ffxivsetup.exe" and installed the launcher.

    Then I ran the launcher, logged in with my Square Enix account and got to the point where I need to click "Next" to update the game client.

    When I click "Next", the launcher simply becomes a black screen and nothing is shown even after more than 15 minutes have passed. I've tried repeating the process several times, uninstalling and reinstalling the launcher, and disabling anti-virus with no success.

    The launcher version is 2013.08.22.0000.0001, and I'm running Windows 7 (64 bit).

    I was previously able to play in the Beta but had to reimage my computer due to some issues so I had to reinstall the game client.

    Any help would be much appreciated.

    im having that prob too except mine has the four buttons on the bottom

    I had same problem and after 4 hours of searching solution. It helped that i put default internet settings from explorer. Go to tools and bottoms is properties and there last tab at right and bottom of that page use default settings etc.Then just reopen explorer to get settings inuse and also same to launcher.

    If u get unable to download version when clicking play. You need to clear temp folder,go to users/user/appdata/local/temp.
    Also you need to have showing hidden folders on to see appdata folder.

    Finally found a solution as well, it has to do with Internet Explorer settings.

    One solution is to add "ffxiv.com" in the list of "Trusted sites" in Internet Options. This should let the launcher to load the login page properly.

    This worked for me.

    Start > Control Panel > View installed Updates > Uninstall Internet Explorer Updates

    Then PC should prompt for restart and after restarting it worked for me.
