OP joins forums to complain. Priceless.
It's (at least western) human nature to find people that share their point of view and complain.
@Leodaire But the new servers and increasing the number of concurrent players on existing servers will address the issue of people being able to log in to a world. If there are STILL issues, SE said they would look into implementing an afk kick feature (I agree this should already be there and, in theory, *shouldn't* take long to implement). I mean hell, I wish I were playing right now instead of using my 3 daily posts responding to complaint threads, but I can't. I want to play, but I can't. So I'll do something else instead that is also fun.
Really, think of things this way. This game is really, really popular right now. That is one of the best things that could happen to an MMO at launch, as it means a more promising long-term development cycle. That is a good thing for everyone that is playing, and trying to play. Find patience young Jedi.
I personally don't see the point of getting emotionally upset about something that you can't fix. It will get fixed when it gets fixed, and clearly SE is aware that it's a problem. Anyone who thinks you can acquire and program new servers overnight is just being silly. My knowledge of servers is so limited and yet I know it's not as simple as plug-and-play.
I understand people are frustrated (we all are), but the complaining on forums is nothing new. It's the same mentality people have when it comes to customer feedback. How often do you fill out a customer survey when you're happy? What about when you've had a horrible experience? A lot of people who come to the forums to complain are unhappy, but that's not an accurate reflection of how everyone feels. The majority of people who are happy are too busy enjoying the game to come here and defend the game or even get involved in this festival of complaints. Throughout the course of this thread, I'm sure the OP will receive a lot of negative comments simply because, like others said, 'people need an outlet'. I personally would not like to become the target of this need for an outlet. ;P
Do you realize that Square Enix is deleting Tickets that are more than 48 hours old that haven't been resolved? Does this not bother you?
Death to the weak!
Main page, post on the 29th.
Also main page. Posted on the 31st. You do realize that the reason there is no queue is because they are manually allowing and denying logins, right? Says it right in those two links. Maybe you should spend less time complaining and more time reading. What about the players trying to log on and can't even get into queue? There was no fix announced for that.
Feels like the year 2000 with all these server issues.
You guys just don't seem to understand how a consumer-driven society works. We paid for a product, and through incompetence, negligence, or both, we have been denied access to that product. That is unacceptable, and the only way to get it rectified is to complain LOUDLY. Name one other industry where this fiasco would be met with such a passive, apologist response. The only way to motivate a large company to stop counting their preorder money and actually fix the problem is to talk about refunds and COMPLAIN loud enough that it might scare off other prospective buyers. That's it.
If you're having no problems, that's fantastic, enjoy the game. If you are having problems, and you're not voicing your displeasure, then you're sheep.
Except they already said they'd be buying new servers on Wednesday. The situation IS being rectified. Pretty sure that they know how unhappy a lot of customers are at this point. All the complaints at this point serve no purpose. If the servers are still screwed up after the Wednesday maintenance, feel free to complain. You guys just don't seem to understand how a consumer-driven society works. This would make sense if SE wasn't concerned about fixing the situation. But they are, and they've announced an ETA for the fix to be implemented. Further complaining isn't going to make the fix come any sooner. You guys just don't seem to understand how a consumer-driven society works.
