Wish i could do fates on my monk. I never get more then bronze. When in a fate group does your overall groups performance make it decide whether you get bronze, silver, or gold or your individual performance?

I was talking to my bro about this earlier. At first I was thinking, make the FATE enemies harder, but I don't think that would help. What they should do is slow down the spawn rate of FATE's, which I think will make them more special, and the impatient people waiting around for them all day will eventually leave because they will find out the fastest way to level is repeating dungeons.
This also might fix up the FATE lag issue, as in not everyone will be hovering around to camp them all day, if the rate of experience is slowed down to below dungeon speed. Or either give a boost to dungeon experience, maybe a bigger bonus at the end when you beat the boss.
I agree, but there are good players who dont jump into dungeons undergeared even if they do Fates, I didn't spam Fates on my first job all the way to 50 like most, I actually did quests, repeated dungeons and made an effort to spend allowances to grab current level gear, there are so many ways to get updated, choose the armor reward from quests, etc.
Granted there are a lot of bad players, they know who they are, but hey, you find these in every MMO. There is nothing we can do about them.
***Here is the kicker, when doing pick-ups for Relic drops, DO NOT TAKE PEOPLE THAT DONT HAVE MORE THAN 4 PIECES OF DARKLIGHT GEAR. If they didn't put in that much effort, don't take them. Also kick yourself out of the party if you- yourself don't have at least 4 pieces. Shame on you. End-game progression should enforce this mentality so that no scrubs reach end game by leeching.
My favorite comments in these threads are "I leveled 4 classes to level 50 and will be leveling another 2 to 50 very soon through FATES but FATES need to be NERFED!!!! because I want others not to have it easy when I already took advantage of FATES."
/hypocrisy
Everyday theres a thread about this and 1 out of 10 players say they have leveled without FATE grinding but the majority of NERF claims come from players who use it.
Need other ways to level.
There isn't a set quest hub. You can only do the main scenario once per character.
So really, it's either fates, dungeon, or leves.
Leves aren't endless. I save those for crafting and gathering.
Dungeons take forever as DPS. So what do i do while waiting?
Fates. Yeah, so really, fates is the only thing to do.
Wish i could do the main quests all over again as another class, then i'd avoid fates instead of running towards them like a shoe sale on black Friday.
Also, just cause i level off fates don't mean i queue up undergeared. I make sure to make myself a set of HQ things when i can whenever i'm of level.
I have no problem with fates. Bad players will be bad. It is mind numbing and so boring that I can only do it for like an hour before I want to tear my eyes out. Reducing fate spawns or reducing xp is not going to help players get better. There are red circles in fates too so just doing a dungeon isn't going to make you a master at dodging them. In addition the gear thing is just a player being lazy, even if they didn't do fates they may still have terrible gear. Ot you can be like me and get 4 drops through all the story modes on my GLD.
I think a couple things they could do to help the FATE situation:
- Increase exp from dungeons some and increase exp from leves by a TON (they are awful!).
- Give the Armoury Bonus (extra exp for classes that are lower than your highest) to dungeons, leves, and guildhests.
- Change it so the bonus exp from doing a Guildhest the first time works the first time each *day*, instead of just the first time ever. Or at least the first time for each class.
- Increase FATE mob HP.
This would hopefully encourage people to level using other methods, especially for "alt" Classes. I know I'd still do some FATE 'grinding', but I'd also mix in dungeons. The Guildhest thing in particular would be nice because then you could do the 'tutorials' for each Class and learn how they work in each situation.
Because its a very cheap and frightfully easy alternative to having to come up with some sort of creative answer to "What should people do when they've run out of the rather tiny number of quests we're launching with?"
There's your answer; do fates. Want to level an alt battle class? Fates. Did they miss a spot in the leveling path? They'll probably fix it later and add more quests, sure, but until then, fates.
None of your friends/guildmates on and you won't touch a dungeon with anybody you're not on voice chat with, but you hate crafting and gathering is the most singularly boring thing you've ever conceived of in the history of ever? Fates.
Its like, the bologna sandwich of game design. Come up with some 'dynamic content'. It'll solve all the woes! Its like...quests that magically regenerate, forever! YAAAAAAAY!
...Right? Everything's copacetic here right?
Of course it is. I'm SE and I only listen to the mahself.
You notice that all the people complaining about Fates have already used them to level to 50. that's how people are. They weren't complaining before they hit level 50, but now that they have it's a problem.
