People like complaining... Here is tons of exp and seals. Now........complain. Spoiler alert: no matter what SE does, some wont like it. I like how they aren't cow towing to players
Player
I don't mind the fact that fate grinds are so effective for leveling. I would love it if dungeons were more effective for xp gains, however, I don't really mind the way they are now.
I'll level my classes/jobs in whatever way is most enjoyable to me and I believe the same priviledge should be available to others. Let every person that wants to skip as much content as possible just to be level 50 as quickly as possible do so. If it deprives them of learning experiences necessary to be functional during endgame content I, again, don't really care. If I discover someone isn't capable of doing certain content, I don't do that content with them. How they reached level 50 and that content is irrelevant. What matters is can they perform? Yes, hop on board. No, get practice/gear up. That's all. If I care about the player, I'll help them practice/gear up. If I don't, I'll see them when they're better prepared.
Post-Length Edit:
All of this should be understood to be within the context of non-exploitative methods. SE's addressed that it does not see Fate grinds as exploitative and does not have plans right now to change them.
I'll share what I do mind, though. Not even being able to PARTICIPATE in Fates due to the game's inability to render mobs with so many players participating. That gets under my skin more than knowing that someone else leveled up their class/job using a method that a portion of the community has deemed to be too cheap for their standard.
See that's my issue. I don't like the random mob FATEs; boss fates make more sense. The enemies that spawn in the mob type fates are horrible because literally they die in like two hits. By the time you target something, it is already dead because there are too many people. Make them harder to knock down so quickly I do think that it's an issue too that people can purely level on FATEs. I say my solutions are:
make FATEs rarer
make fate enemies stronger
increase gil from fates, but lower xp
buff dungeon xp
and lastly, make it so that people can only do x amount of fates before their xp gain from doing the same thing decreases. We have a leve limit, so there should be a fate limit. Granted, this solution is hard on servers though
For your second character, Fates are definetly the quickest and most efficient way to 50. For your first character however, story and questing will get you there just as fast if not faster.

My only problem is that the majority of fates come down to the same hurry and tag as much as possible mentality, I tend to play healers and i would enjoy being able to be a bit more involved than trying to land aero on everything. Maybe a scaling system based on the number of people in the immediate area?
I would also like to see a grinding type fate, like an onslaught with higher rewards to the number of enemies killed in the time limit similar to the scoring thing on gathering leves.
I dont mind the FATE exp, but you know it gets pretty bad when a mini boss like Svara becomes un-targetable and gets god mode + Invisible hacks due to too many people LOL. Behemoth appeared a few days ago, Couldnt even see him unless u were within his AOE Circle which = Death LOL.
So perhaps fix that before doing any nerfing and what not.
This is a bit off-topic, but if you're having trouble targeting large mobs like Svara and Behemoth in overcrowded areas, then I suggest you move your camera directly above you and zoom out as far as possible.
It seems as though the game prioritizes based on how close a group of players/mobs/npc's are to your camera, and since these large fate mobs are taller than everyone else, doing so seems to keep them high on visible priority.
Doesn't work 100% of the time, but DEFINITELY helps.

I don't think that'S what he was trying to tell us. It's the fact that Svara actually disappears if there are too many people, Svara disapperas and shows up again, then disappears and so on. That's so annoying and I don't think that things like that should be in a MMO. I think there is abetter way to handle crowded areas instead of just letting eenemies or other players disappear.
Dont need to nerf Fates XP, just need to make them harder as the levels goes by. Currently its as easy as spamming the same ability over and over (OH WAIT).
Give more damage/HP/defense to the mobs, so that each of them work as a mini-mini boss and that when the fate has a real boss, make it really like one. Some fates with 15m to be done end before the 14 minutes mark, now this is really insane... Make every fate last at least 5 minutes or so and probably impossible to solo...
Also mobs around the world needs some improvement in xp, currently killing to get xp only works for the 1-5 levels. :/ Partying to kill mobs on the wild is one of the best things in mmos...
