I'm sure this idea will go over well with people who lose their party's tanks and healers to the timer at a vital moment.

Away auto boot is enough trust me I've been in a same situation before. Theyre going to upgrade the server soon so we might not even need one so just wait till that big maintenance but in the end the auto boot when away is enough. In addition to an AFK timeout logout that they sorely need to implement, SQEX really need to provide current launch players with some relief by giving players a timer limit for staying logged in.
Say 3 hours of game time before a compulsory logout (with a 15-20 minute warning before the player will be logged automatically) - at which time you can go directly back into the waiting queue - which ideally won't be so bad because AFKers are getting logged out and people are getting logged out.
I mean, yeah that sounds kinda bad... until you realize we're dealing with the current alternative which is wait 3 hours, pressing 0 on numpad or A/X on gamepad to *possibly* get into the game.
Tatakae! Tatakae!!Tatakae!!!TATAKAE!!!!
Read OP, brain had a meltdown. I'm going back to my 0-mashing minigame.

Gotta error them all
I don't understand why people keep going on about these login issues. Sure, it's really annoying and we shouldn't have had this problem in the first place. BUT! SE has already acknowledged this and are increasing the server caps and adding more servers. These will be implemented at the beginning of next week so 3 days tops!
Stop whining about something which is already being fixed. Just be patient for 3 more days and everything will be fine. Then we won't have you use your idiotic idea OP
That's just a laughable idea. No.In addition to an AFK timeout logout that they sorely need to implement, SQEX really need to provide current launch players with some relief by giving players a timer limit for staying logged in.

Unfortunately, due to tragedy of the commons, few people are going to log out once they're in - the wait times and queues only encourage and incentivize this behaviour, which in turn exacerbates the wait times and queues.
Um NO.... We pretty much had that in 1.0 with the questing system..... I mean its a great idea if you wanna see this game die horribly.
NO to a "Play Time Limit" Wtf is that...
I dont want to have use my Security Token 10 times in a day because someone decided to complain about those who actually have TIME OFF.. and clear their schedule to play.. Screw that noise.
AFK Timer.. YES... Hour or Two.. YES... "PLay Time" NO... Not only that.. you're paying to play right? Why would you want to pay to not be able to play for 15mins because you played for 3hrs? ... Where's the brains today.

LOL if this ever happen they better shutdown or drop the subs.
Are you insane? Hell no. Have some damn patience and wait until they fix it. It isn't the players faults that this is an issue, don't punish us.
So in other words, I should be punished for not having login issues? No, I don't stay logged in 24/7. When I'm on, I'm playing. The only time I'm ever not actively playing is when I'm waiting on duty finder and even then, that's only if my hunting log isn't complete.
