What exactly is this screen?



If the image didn't turn out, it basically says there was an error with the lobby server connection.

I own both versions of FFXIV, but this one is occurring specifically on my PS3.

I go through the whole error 1017 fun, but when it starts to load for an extended period (usually indicating that I'm finally commected), it simply has this error that I've never had before.

Since I didn't bring my rig down this weekend, can I expect to not be playing this at all? Or it another issue where I have to wait because it's full?

It's simply that you cannot connect to the lobby server of ffxiv. Think of it as a waiting area for your client before you try to log into a world.

It's like a doctors office. Error 1017 means you cant go in back to see the doc.....error 2002 means you cannot even get into the building.

If you look in the stickies, error 2002 is CLEARLY a problem with YOUR communications equipment. Please follow the simple steps in the sticky post and all YOUR problems will be solved. FFXIV is working as intended and there are no current problems, just refer to the Lodestone and you can see there's nothing currently wrong.

This has happened every single time today that it just about logs me on--this has been going on for HOURS. Os this something I should power through, or give up for the night? I haven't seem the grass of Gridania at all today, and I've been trying since 1pm...

Unfortunately you have to be extremely lucky to get in, especially on the weekend when every is off work / out of school.

Either wait until 1 or 2 a.m. CST (that works for me) or keep playing the 2002/1017 lotto

Actually I am not experiencing any connection problems at all, other than with the FFXIV server. Although they are saying this is the problem my connection is perfect but still getting the error 2002.
