Fatal Directx error code 10000

I press play and it says fatal direct x error code 10000 or something.
All my graphics card drivers are up to date.

could my graphics card be just to old? It's a nvidia xp/2000 display model. I know I shouldn't use XP and all that but just tell me if it is or isn't my graphics card.

Also, as a small favor, a scan on my cpu said that my 1.5 gb of ram can be expanded to 4, anyone know what it meant?

Can you post detailed system specs and what driver version you are currently running?

intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00 GHz 2.99GHz 1.50 GB RAM
NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Model 64/Model 64 Pro
all drivers are up to date

That APU is woefully underpowered....it's a HD 6350 integrated with the CPU.

Also the CPU is only a dual core @ 1.65 ghz. You may lack the oomph needed to power the game mate :/ The 6250 only has 80 unified shaders...

One thing I can suggest is checking AMD's website. The 13.8 beta drivers they are testing is the first driver to offer official support and performance enhancements for ffxiv online. I downloaded it and it helped a lot, but that was also with a 7870 ghz edition in a desktop...and a 6 core cpu @ 4.2ghz

Currently the game is running on Direct X 9.0 so it might just be a net code issue until they upgrade it.

I see you just changed your specs....are you really running a p4 and a tnt video card?

Yeah but neither did my laptop, and it still booted up at least, though it went 7 fps. And this desktop played the original FFXIV at full speen 30fps.

Yes but the new ffxiv is MUCH more graphically intensive. I would suggest setting EVERYTHING to low, turning all extras (FXAA and such) off and see what happens. But officially your system will not support it I'm afraid
