    Typing Japanese on PS3

After the 1017 debacle, I started to play on a JP server and I can understand some Japanese. I wanted to type something in Japanese but I couldn't figure out how. I tried the "~" key but it didn't switch to Japanese. could someone help? It would be much appreciated thank you!

P.S. : I am using an English keyboard on the PS3. Is that the problem? It worked last time in Phase 3.

nope not a problem just go into your playstations setting and you can change your ps3 keyboard type which will allow you to speak nearly any language

Try the "¬" key instead (the one left of 1 in the top line of keys / below ESC). No need to change anything in the PS3 settings at all. (Don't shift the key, just press it once to toggle the keyboard layout, press again to toggle back.)

I thought that roumaji was kinda like a crutch for people learning Japanese, so I wanted to type Hiragana. but I guess I could do that.

See my post above - no need to do that - you can switch the keyboard layouts easilly.

Did you even read the OP? Your suggestion is to do what they stated they already done.

Anyone solved this yet? Would love to be able to type in Japanese without changing the client and having the whole game in Japanese.
