    Optimal Carpenter skill path.

    So I was thinking I'd share the skill up path I've done so far to help new carpenters:

    willow lumber -> willow half-mask -> oak lumber -> oak half-mask -> yew lumber -> yew half-mask

    So what do you guys think about that?

    I'm pretty sure people would realize this is one of the best routes to go, if they bother to look up CRP recipes for skill up purposes.

    It's been working for me, but I've run into something of a blockade on the willow lumber. I'm having trouble consistently getting willow logs from trees, and nobody's selling it. I suppose I could buy the logs from the NPC, but I'm trying to be stingy :P

    Sazaku here is a site I use to locate items. http://www.disciplesoftheland.com/Maps.aspx I find that the best place to harvest willow is around Skull Valley.

    When I started out as a botanist, I harvested 3 stacks (36 at the time) of willow logs, all around Camp Black Brush, (or what ever starting camp is outside of ul'dah) they are all grade one trees.

    Also keep on mind that you can return to a node after you harvested 2 other nodes. So if you find a tree that drops willow, mark it down, and either find another tree, and maybe a bush to harvest from and make a cycle of it. That is till the node collapses.

    i think this is probably the best method to leveling up carpenter. It all comes down to how much dedication and time you put in. I get bored easily and can't seem to sit in one spot making little masks all day

    If you are not farming your own materials you might try Pine Skillet Handles. The pine is much less expensive then the oak and you get awesome skill points for making them.
