I agree with the majority there is NO excuse for any of this. This isn't their first MMORPG, they had issues at the launch of 11 as well. They should have learned from that. There is a thing called a reputation. Fool me once, how many people would be willing to spend money on future MMOs by SE? I know for me I'll have to really consider things before I ever pay them again. My dad is a network engineer, setting up a working server for defense companies takes a day...your telling me SE can't fix it after 4 beta phases where they should have been ready, an early access period, and a freaking week after the game was launched. Shame on them.

so just beacause a game has a rough first week you want to boycott it forever? even if they fix it and there is never an issue again? why not just wait a bit before buying it instead of getting it launch? very seldom do the best mmo games have a flawless launch. you sound like spoiled brats.

No MMO has ever had a launch this bad. It's a god damn week after launch to fix a problem that existed in the last beta phase. There is no excuse and expecting to be able to play the game I paid for does not make me a spoiled brat.

Let's see...

Anarchy Online: had precisely this same problem, and the registration servers were more broken, and some people got double-charged.
World of Warcraft: had precisely this same problem, only it went on for months, plus a high number of bugs, some of which also persisted for months.
Vanguard: Half the game wasn't implemented, half of what was implemented didn't work.
APB: Exploits galore, developer went out of business within a month.
Star Wars Galaxies: Major features not implemented, major delays of release date, and the same problem we're having on top.
Age of Conan: Half the game wasn't implemented.
Aion: Had precisely this same problem.
EVE Online: One of the patches later on could crash your Windows installation to the point of requiring a reinstall...

People using the excuse 'NO I HAVE PAID FOR THIS IT SHOULD WORK' get a grip and grow up. I have PAID too but do you see me shouting or acting like a 10 year old when something doesnt work? Of course not. Just WAIT and see. SE are working on it. This games a success that wasnt anticipated.

Surely once it gets sorted SE will put things right. Watch and see.

The company has handled everything poorly. They should have been ready. Instead, we are all begrudgingly participating in what equates to phase 5 Beta testing.

So, nobody knew how many pre-orders there were, how many copies were purchased from Square Enix, nor how many copies were licensed for sale by other companies like Amazon and Gamestop?
That's really, really odd, ya know?
I would personally make it a point to know how many copies of a game I was licensing and distributing.

They have no problem taking our money, but have a problem providing a game to play. Seems kind of backwards. Once again I will use my free 30 days and walk away from a FF game. What a bunch of losers these guys are.

Do you own stock in their company? What is your vested interest in defending them? They are a huge multimillion dollar company they don't need or want you speaking for them. As it stands they screwed up big time when they initially released the game and then didn't do proper stress testing when they had AMPLE opportunity. I think at this point anything short of cautious optimism is you just being a jackass who's blind to the company's faults.

People have every right to be upset and angry. You being a white knight for SE saying "no guys really don't be upset that things are bad," won't get stuff fixed faster. If people don't bring their grievances forward then SE would just sit on their ass and do nothing. You remember the original game they thought was "good enough," was a steaming pile of remake needed. SE's quality is slipping and they need to be brought to task otherwise the FF series might as well just die.

Firstly...it takes time to set up a working server.and make sure it is stable. They are doing that now.

It is wonderful but...the internet has limits. It is a finite system. It is like the freeway. If there are more people trying to travel than the system can handle, there are traffic jams. No one sues the State Highway departments for being stuck in traffic. You and we are all STUCK IN TRAFFIC. so please just do other things and wait like the rest of us. I cant play the game either because i am waiting for the physical game. I am trying to help new players and help keep us calm and peaceful in the meantime. Lets just take it easy and be nice.

Third, Yoshi San and the staff are doing ALL THAT THEY CAN...they are working furiously for us ALL, not just for the Japanese Servers but for ALL OF US> it is a fact of geography and population distribution that none of us control that ere are more of us in the NA/EU area. They cant change that. So we are the ones who got hit harder by the bottlenecks.
