Transfer from Legacy

My question is if a new char will be able to transfer from a Legacy server to a new server. Read that 6 months is the time 1.0 chars will be locked to legacy worlds.

My understanding is that the legacy servers themselves are locked, not the chars. This is to prevent players from piling gold or items on a new char and sending it to gain an economic advantage on another server. So, if you are on a legacy server, whether old or new, you can only transfer between legacy servers.

My understanding is that in 6 months you'll be able to transfer to and from legacy servers, most likely they will even drop the "legacy" title from those servers. Until that point, your character is locked to legacy servers, but theoretically should be able to transfer to another legacy server prior to the 6 months. I'm counting on this because I started a new character and want to bring my legacy character over to my server at some point!
