Dear SE: restriction is causing more issues

Posting in the general forum a limitation of 5,000 people to log in and openly posting that a resolution to AFKers is not being addressed at this time means the following:

People will remain logged in. Why log out if you can't get back in?

Giving a 1017 message to people that actually log out and not giving them any idea when a spot will be open in the future makes people spam the lobby.

Understood the number of ppl interested in playing this game was hugely underestimated. Also understood that limiting the number of players will prevent crashes. But if you put a limit on the number of players, dealing with AFKers should be a priority.

It was obvious that there was a huge interest in the relaunch of this game. 1.0 had a server merge. It should have been anticipated that people that used to play 1.0 before the server merge would want to try ARR now.

This game is really great and fun to play now. Can the priority of issues possibly be re-examined?

Speaking personally, I log out every time I am done with the game, and I face 1017 every time I log in, yet, I persist, and I get in. It makes me wonder if those who are not getting in at all, have some other extenuating circumstance as to why they are getting no access at all. It feels too lopsided and the server-boot of afk people may not solve their problems.

However, I applaud, greatly, the way in which this feedback is suggested, even if I don't necessarily agree with the order in which these fixes are to be instituted.

The fact that you have taken the time to post this in the most appropriate tone possible makes me want to rethink my own stance on this. Thank you, very much, for taking the time to post this feedback.

I personally am spamming the lobby and I do get in but the lobby is starting to crash more. So I figure tons of people are spamming it too. It just doesn't make sense the way it is set up right now.

I know the devs think of an AFK timeout as being a bandaid, but until the wound is healed, I think a bandaid would be necessary. It's a simple fix and it would really solve most of the short-term problems.

They are making server issues a priority as they stated they should have new servers in place by Wednesday. Instead of doing a bandaid fix (afk auto-boot), they are planning for the long term by adding the servers. They said they would continue to monitor the situation and may still consider he afk auto-boot if the servers don't alleviate the issue.

Have some patience.

What about the bots? We're being blocked by them as well they can stay in for as long as they want just because they're programming.SE has a lot of stuff to deal with to make it where we real players to be able to play but i wish they would hurry xD.

I don't spam the lobby, however.

What I do is log in, attempt to go straight through, if I don't reach queue, I stay in character screen for a undetermined amount of time (once in a while when it suits my fancy) and then I usually get inside queue inside a half hour to an hour this way.

People who are spamming character attempts I think are actually harming their efforts.

Honestly I think the idea that this problem will be alleviated even in the tiniest bit with an afk timer is just wishful thinking. They say they are 100% occupied with expanding the servers, I'd rather they stick with that then pull people off to do a temporary "fix" that will help maybe 2% and further enrage the other 98% when it doesn't work.

Well, adding servers will be great for new players. But what about players that have a well established community in the server that they are on and don't ever want to leave that server?
