Character World Transfer: JP to NA servers?

Will we be able to transfer our characters between JP and NA servers?

Yes, you should be able to do so. Nearly every big NA linkshell transferred from JP to NA servers the other month for free.

You're talking about Legacy servers, which is an entirely different matter. In any event, they have said before that there is no restriction (outside of the current one imposed on Legacy characters) for world transfers, because this game is not region locked.

Ok so what exactly are the legacy rules anyways? I'm a legacy player from Balmung that wants to join my friends on Lamia.

As far as we know, 1.0 characters will not be able to transfer to non-Legacy servers until about 6 months after launch, the idea being to allow the new servers to develop economies without the interference of 1.0 players that are starting 2.0 with a lot of gil and/or high level classes.

As for NA<-->JP server transfers, I believe it will be possible as the example that they give when illustrating the World Transfer Service on the Lodestone page shows a JP --> NA transfer.
